If you dont have Microsft Word installed on your computer, you could use Wordpad instead. it is located at Start > All Programs > Accessories > Wordpad.
If you want a more feature rich application, there are free office packages such as Open Office, which is available at http://download.openoffice.org/ This software also allows you to save your work as a Microsoft compatible documents.
